Mike Hill, an information technology program manager at the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, was recognized with a Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award at a recent ceremony by Rear Adm. Brian Corey, NAWCWD commander.

“I really want to thank everybody here because this wouldn’t be possible without everyone’s support,” Hill said. “Everybody’s dedication has brought us here, and we’ve made substantial progress. Don’t underestimate what you guys have done so far; this is just the start.”

Hill was honored, in part, for his leadership of a multicompetency team in support of Naval Air Systems Command’s Business Systems Governance Board Lead Business System Integration as well as his collaboration with the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command. He was cited for “leadership, skills and experience [that] have led to the successful implementation of innovative information technology products and systems for maximizing benefit and reducing risks for multiple information technology business models.”

“The concept of conducting our work in a collaborative manner and connecting us to other warfare centers, giving our people the ability to work more effectively and having up-to-date tools for the newer generation coming into our workforce makes a big, big difference,” Corey said. “You are one of our recognized change leaders … you’ve shown people that there is a new way.”
