RRH personnel receive trauma assessment trainingA representative from Kern Medical Center instructs a two-day course to train Ridgecrest Regional Hospital Emergency Department nurses in trauma assessment and care. According to RRH Emergency Department Manager Breanne Chromi, RRH is part of California’s trauma system. “With that responsibility, we want to keep our nurses educated and prepared to receive and care for trauma patients,” she said. “Training certification for our nurses is scheduled in line with the hospital’s mission to be a high-reliability organization that consistently delivers excellent care,” said RRH CEO Jim Suver. “By equipping our employees with quality education, knowledge and resources, we are enhancing their expertise to ensure that our patients receive the highest level of medical care.” According to the Emergency Nurses Association, the first few minutes of trauma care are critical to achieving better patient outcomes.
