On Monday, January 8, at approximately 2:20 PM, Ridgecrest Police Department(RCPD), Kern County Firefighters, and Liberty Ambulance were dispatched to a report that A two-vehicle traffic collision had occurred. Upon arrival, rescuers found a Dodge Charger and a Jeep Grand Cherokee Southbound on N Norma Street collided. According to RCPD, it appeared through investigation that the front vehicle, the Jeep, was slowing to make a turn into a nearby business and was rear-ended by the Dodge, causing minor injury to the driver of the Jeep, who was transported to Ridgecrest Regional Hospital via Liberty Ambulance. The remaining passengers appeared uninjured. The incident is still under investigation, but it was determined that DUI was unfounded and not a cause of the collision.
