66th Annual Whiskey Flat Days Gunsmoke & Petticoats

Kernville Chamber of Commerce– At the heart of Whiskey Flat Days is bringing our history to life at the Whiskey Flat Encampment. Whiskey Flats Days will be held on President’s Day Weekend, Friday, Feb. 17, thru Monday, Feb. 20, in  Kernville, CA.

Celebrating 20 years of reenacting the 1860 to 1880s account, the Encampment teaches and reminds us of the colorful way of life the first settlers of the Kern River Valley endured. Be sure and make your way to the Encampment and embrace our historical past.

Pull up yer boots and cinch up your corsets as Rivernook Campground Presents this year’s Entertainment Stage. Highlighted by the Friday night street dance with the Sons of Bakersfield, the dance at Circle Park is a great way to kick off the weekend’s festivities.

The Kernville Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce McNally’s Fairview & Outpost as the Presenting Sponsor of our 66th Annual Whiskey Flat Days. Kernville and McNally’s is rich in the history of the Kern River Valley, so we are excited to continue that tradition together.

John McNally came to the Kern River Valley in the early 1930s and carved some history out of a largely unknown piece of real estate called Fairview on the Kern. Taking over Fairview from his father in the early 1940s, Johnny started the steakhouse that would, in future years, become famous for finer steak dinners.

Today, John McNally’s legacy continues to live on in our community and through the people who have committed to owning and operating this historical restaurant for generations to come.

Watching the Iron Horse Rodeo Presented by Camp Kernville is an excellent time for the family. Motorcycles and Quads will enter McNally Arena in several contests highlighted by this year’s Quad Gladiators.

Supporting Sponsors of the 66th Annual Whiskey Flat Days include AltaOne Federal Credit Union, Applied Technologies, and Thomas Refuse.

Since 1957 Kernville has gathered to celebrate its rich history. With record attendance last year, 2023 is sure to be Kern once again County’s largest celebration of history and tradition.
