Assemblyman Vince Fong’s Office– On August 24, the Department of Health Care Access and Information announced the 17 healthcare facilities that will be receiving financial assistance under the Distressed Hospital Loan Program, which was passed by the Legislature earlier this year. Ridgecrest Regional Hospital (RRH) received $5,500,000. Assemblyman Vince Fong (R-Kern County) issued the following statement:
“Hospitals, especially those in our region, have been struggling financially since the pandemic.
“Working with my colleagues, we created this lifeline to assist hospital staff and volunteers who are committed to providing critical patient care.
“This financial relief will provide initial assistance and stability. More still must be done, including increasing reimbursement rates and removing onerous regulations and costs so RRH can continue caring for the Indian Wells Valley community.”
