ASTRONOMY COLUMN MAY EVENTS:
The next club meeting is on May 1 in the Maturango Museum at 7:30 PM. The program will be titled “Entry-level Electronically Assisted Astronomy” Keith will start the presentation by showing the contrast between different types of electronically assisted astronomy. Then Chuck Morgan will demonstrate the operation of his Dwarf lab system. Star parties:

May CELESTIAL CALENDAR
Mercury moves to the morning sky, where it can be seen in the east before sunrise.
Venus and Mars are in the evening western sky this month. Bright Venus will be slightly below and to the right of dimmer Mars.
Saturn is in the morning sky, where it can be seen in the southeast before sunrise.
Jupiter moves to the morning sky, where it appears low in the east before the sun rise.
The Eta Aquarid meteor shower peaks on May 6th.
