Cerro Coso Basketball dominants, advances to 7-0

The Cerro Coso Coyotes Basketball team remains undefeated after a dominant 95-80 victory over the Golden West Rustlers. The Coyotes built a big lead early, going up 16-2 early in the game. At halftime, they had extended it to 51-25.

In the second half, the Coyotes didn’t let up. They continued to dominate on both sides of the court, and by the time there were just 2:00 left in the game, they were sitting on a 91-65 lead. Despite easing up and allowing the Rustlers to put up 15 in the final two minutes, the Coyotes cruised to another double-digit win. A strong effort led the Coyotes from Trent Gordon, who had 24 points and 13 rebounds.

On Tuesday night, the Coyote men’s basketball team continues their hot start with a convincing win over district rival Porterville College.

Cerro Coso Basketball has received much-deserved recognition for its dominant play, as it was recently ranked as the #8 team in the CCCMBCA. This is the highest state ranking ever received by a Cerro Coso athletic program. The team’s full schedule can be found at
