CHAMBER OF COMMERCE –
Chamber Chairman Chris Hill awarded Ann Rizzardini of Red Rock Books with the Business of the Year Award Tuesday June 14 at the Ridgecrest Chamber of Commerce 76th Annual Community Awards & Installation luncheon. Linda Voigt of Memory Lane Fabrics & Quilts was also recognized with a Business of the Year award. Officers and recognized local citizens and business owners were also awarded during the event.
Red Rock books is housed in a family owned commercial building. As early as 1970, the building served as a furniture and appliance store owned and operated by Jim and Millie Rizzardini. The nearby Historical Victory Market was built and operated by Jim’s older brother Americo (Mac) Rizzardini. The first Victory Market was destroyed by fire in 1945. Red Rock Books is a center piece for its social and cultural contribution to the community.
