Children’s hour at Maturango Museum Friday, September 15

Maturango Museum– The first Children’s Hour is scheduled for Flex Friday, September 15, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Parents and young children are welcomed once again to join in the action-packed time of stories, songs with plenty of ‘wiggles’ opportunities, crafts, and learning through seeing and guided touching of artifacts from the Docents’ Collection.

Children’s Hour was started in 2009 by volunteer docents and is a free monthly program running Sept.-May. The goal of each program is education about the desert environment in which the children live and our nearby mountains. During these many years, programs have introduced owls, bats, snow geese, wildflowers, bears, rocks, and so much more. On this occasion, the theme will be coyotes in which the children will be greeted by the puppet Wiley Coyote, a very interesting character, as he says.

Schedules for fall programs are available at September Children’s Hour. More info, www.maturango.org or (760) 375-6900.
