The Rocky Hill Preserve field trip is scheduled for  December 3.

The Children’s Hour Docents, all eager volunteers, are thrilled to offer programs once again to pre-school age children beginning October 14, on a flex Friday,10:30-11:30.

Our programs are designed for children aged 3 to 5 years. Activities do bring everyone in close contact with one another. Because the children’s well-being is necessarily a primary concern, we are requiring pre-registration.

Children of all ages can be registered to participate. We feel confident that with the family members help, we can all contribute to a healthy and enjoyable experience for everyone.

So, let the fun begin.  Moms, dads, grandparents, and children are welcome to a morning that for some may seem like a visit to olden times.  The children will be introduced to a familiar folktale with, what we call, a desert twist.  Meet the Gingerbread Cowboy by Janet Squires followed by vigorous riding-trail on Calico Stick Horses. “Yee Haw!”  If we all had boots and spurs on, we’d be a hearin’ a lot of jiggling and a stompin’ to the sounds of a fiddle and little cowpokes feet movin’ in a Hoe Down Barn Dance. Well, after some huffin’ and a-puffin’ there’s time to step up to the tables in the pretend barn for some put-together craftin’.

The Maturango Museum is open 10 am to 5 pm daily.
