City Manager thanks residents for participating in survey

CITY OF RIDGECREST Megan McKenzie–

Thank you to all the Ridgecrest residents participating in our 2023 Community Survey! Your time and feedback have been instrumental in working hand in hand with the community to address the critical needs of our City.

Your valuable feedback continues to guide our City service priorities -thanks to you, we’re proud to say over 60% of respondents reported recently they were satisfied with City services.

The City has been working hard to maintain Ridgecrest streets and roads, and we thank you for your patience as you pass through our road repair areas. The community’s recent feedback has told us to prioritize fixing potholes and neighborhood streets, and we agree. Maintaining our streets, roads, and potholes so they don’t deteriorate in the future is fiscally responsible.

Well-maintained city streets, roads, and parks help maintain the Ridgecrest quality of life residents enjoy and protect property values. At the same time, we must keep the current level of police service, including neighborhood patrols and crime prevention programs.

In this uncertain economy, the City is committed to programs that retain, attract, and help expand businesses in town -doing so creates jobs and a vibrant local economy.

Residents identified the following priorities in the 2023 survey:

Maintaining 911 emergency response times Continuing to fix potholes on neighborhood streets Keeping public areas healthy, safe, and clean Attracting and retaining local businesses and jobs

Because of your feedback, we continue to work hard to prioritize taxpayer dollars. We speak up for Ridgecrest in fighting expensive bureaucratic regulations and money grabs from the State. If you haven’t already done so, please take a moment to participate in the Ridgecrest Community Conversation by visiting: https://www.ridgecrest-ca.gov/conversation.

Sincerely,

Ron Strand, City Manager
