City to hold 2nd Town Hall meeting on trash collection

City of Ridgecrest Ron Strand–   On November 21, 2022, Ron Strand stated that City staff and representatives were committed to keeping the public informed about the changes under Senate Bill 1383 for sanitation services in Ridgecrest. “To this end, we are hosting the second in a series of community forums to provide opportunities for citizens to get more information and directly engage on this specific topic.”

Trash Talk Town Hall ($2) will be held on Tuesday, December 13th beginning at 6:30pm in the Council Chambers of City Hall. This informal forum will be in the same style as Trash Talk Town Hall #1: City staff will provide a brief presentation leading in to a Q&A session with City staff and representatives from Waste Management and Kern County Public Works. Representative Kyle Blades will be moderating the Q&A session.

There will be no time limit for individual comments, but we will ask that participants are respectful and keep questions/comments relevant to the topic (trash). This meeting will be broadcast live and allow call-in participation.

There will be additional opportunities for engagement offered over the upcoming months, so stay tuned for future scheduling announcements.
