Classic Movie Night’s ‘Super Summer Cinema’ showing thru July 26

Historical Society of the Upper Mojave Desert Nick Rogers– Stay tuned for our upcoming “Super Summer Cinema,” featuring newer titles, family-friendly film favorites, and familiar classics from the Golden Age of Hollywood at the Historic USO Building.

Something a little different, this year, we will present a recent re-make (2022) of a classic MGM comedy from 1950 that starred Spencer Tracy, Joan Bennett, and Elizabeth Taylor and took a very humorous look at the trials and tribulations of wedding planning. The newer version presents the same situation from an updated Cuban-American family viewpoint. Andy Garcia and Gloria Estefan portray the burdened parents in this unique, fresher perspective that we think you will enjoy.

This summer series premiered on Wednesday, May 10, and shows through July 26. For information and titles of the other four films in the series, please stop by the Historic USO Building for flyers, or check out our Events Board at our front door. Snack Bar opens at 6:30 pm.  Admission is, as always, donation only.

Movies bring us together.
