Community Light Opera and Theatre Association– (CLOTA)
CLOTA Musicals are returning to CLOTA Center Stage, and the Community Light Opera and Theatre Association are holding auditions for actors and singers. “Clue the Musical,” directed by Angie Sonia-Pritchard, brings the popular board game to life-size onstage as Mr. Boddy gleefully guides the audience to solve his imminent demise, possibly at the hands of six very colorful suspects—Mrs. Peacock, Colonel Mustard, Mrs. White, Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, and Mr. Green.
Each motive is different. Could Mrs. Peacock, newly wed to Mr. Boddy, be planning to make off with his fortune? Does Col. Mustard have a secret past with Mrs. Peacock? What sort of business is Mr. Green really in? And is Professor Plum trying to woo the Detective in charge of the case? With an original storyline and packed with songs, “Clue the Musical” will invite actors and the audience to play the game and figure out whodunit, where, and with what. Everyone is welcome to try out; participating in the show requires no theatrical experience.
Actors should come prepared with an audition song to sing. Auditions will be Sunday, March 19, at 3 p.m. and Monday, March 20, at 5 p.m. at CLOTA Center Stage (1425 N. Inyo St.). “Clue the Musical” will be performed on May 26, 27, June 2, 3, 9, and 10, 2023, at 7:30 p.m. at CLOTA Center Stage with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, June 4th. Rehearsal dates will be arranged after auditions based on actor availability. For more information, visit clota.org or CLOTA on Facebook and Instagram.
