A call came into the Emergency Command Center that a mobile home fire in the vicinity of Thorn Street and Weiman Ave in Inyokern at 2:40 pm. As Kern County Fire Engine 74 out of Inyokern arrived, they immediately asked for another engine because of the smoke and windy conditions. By 2:50, the mobile home was 50% in flames. After an offensive attack on the fire, by 3:13, the fire was completely contained.
