Fire ravages home on Brown Road

By Laura Austin News Review Staff Writer– In a commendable display of promptness, The Kern County Department swiftly responded to a report of a house on fire on the 4600 block of Marvin Gardens Street in the early hours of Monday, June 10, at 5:29 a.m.

Firefighters were on the scene without delay, finding an approximately 1500-square-foot mobile home heavily involved in flames at the back door of the residence. The occupants, who had already evacuated the structure, had broken every window and left the back door open while attempting to find their dog. Engine crews immediately pulled hose lines, entered the burning structure, and began extinguishing the flames.

Primary and secondary victim searches were completed inside the home, and no victims were found.

No injuries were reported. However, the cause of the fire remains unknown, and investigations are underway to determine its origin.

Engines 81, 83, 84, 14, 71, 85, Battalion Kern 7, and 2 other units were also dispatched to the incident.
