Grads celebrate at Safe Grad Night

Committee for Safe Graduation Stephanie Hudson, Chair– The Committee for Safe Graduation is excited to share that we can finally return to our first full-scale event since 2019! We are more than ready to celebrate the graduating seniors in our community with a night of activities, fun, and food.

This year, the Committee for Safe Graduation is proud to partner with Cerro Coso Community College to present our Safe Grad night on May 26, 2023. This all-night event will have casino games, a cornhole tournament, a photo booth, gaming contests, a hypnotist, and so much more!! Started over 30 years ago in memory of a student who lost their life in a tragic accident while participating in end-of-the-school-year activities, the Committee for Safe Graduation has worked tirelessly to provide an alcohol and drug-free celebration for graduating Seniors in the Indian Wells Valley and Trona. High school graduates from Burroughs, Christian Home Educators of Ridgecrest, Immanuel Christian, Mesquite, Opportunities for Learning, and Trona High Schools will attend!

Safe Grad, a memorable, fun, and safe event, is a heavily adult-chaperoned evening planned and executed by volunteers from our community. This event is funded ENTIRELY by donations. The money we receive is used to purchase food and prizes and pay for the activities and all associated costs for this all-night event. Through your generous support, we can provide this event free of charge to the over 300 graduating Seniors in our community.

For those businesses that donate at least $150, their name and logo will be displayed at the event. We have multiple sponsorship opportunities for those individuals or businesses that can donate a bit more. Your tax-deductible donation may be sent directly to the Committee, or you may email us at if you would like us to pick up the donation. All donations will receive a letter of thanks and appreciation with the Committee’s Tax ID number. For those qualifying businesses, please send your logo in JPEG format to the email address listed so we may display it at our event.

On behalf of the Committee for Safe Graduation, please accept our sincere appreciation for your time and support. Year after year, the generosity of our community has allowed us to provide a safe and fun option for our graduating seniors to celebrate this important milestone.
