Grove will stay the course as State Senator

Senator Shannon Grove’s Office–

What a blessing it is to be born in America, a country full of opportunity. Raised in Arvin by a single mom, I joined the Army after high school and was stationed in Germany during the fall of the Berlin Wall. I came back to California and started a successful business that gives jobs to those who need it most. I have had the great privilege to employ second chancers and have given people an opportunity for upward mobility and to provide for their families.

Shannon Grove

I had never served in elected office prior to my campaign for the Assembly in 2010. I was elected as the first female veteran to serve in the State Legislature and was honored to serve six years in the State Assembly. This was followed by my successful election to the State Senate in 2018, and I am now proudly serving the Central Valley in my second term.

I am humbled and truly blessed by the outpouring of support I have received over the last several days. Although it would be a tremendous honor, after prayerful consideration and thoughtful discussions with my family, I have decided I will not seek election to Congress in 2024.

I will honor my commitment to those who elected me to the California State Senate, and I will continue to fight for the needs of Central Valley residents. Our district feeds and fuels the nation, and I intend to continue fighting for those interests. As one of only 40 Senators in the state, there is still much work that lies before me.

I want to thank the people of Kern, Fresno and Tulare counties for placing your trust in me, and I look forward to continuing to serve you in the California Legislature.
