On June 24th, at 9:40 a.m., Kern County firefighters and Ridgecrest Police officers responded to a reported house on fire in the 300 block of Helena St. Engine 84 could see smoke as they responded. Firefighters arrived to find Ridgecrest Police Detective Arnold from the Ridgecrest Police Department fighting a fire that burned in rubbish and leaf litter with a garden hose. The crew assisted with extinguishing and mopping up the remaining embers. Due to the quick actions of Detective Arnold and the rapid response of the Kern County Fire, the fire was extinguished, saving the home.
