HSUMD to honor ‘Dee’ DiPol

Historical Society of the Upper Mojave Desert (HSUMD) Nick Rogers– Dolores “Dee” DiPol prepares to leave Ridgecrest to move closer to family, the Historical Society of the Upper Mojave Desert is throwing its doors open for a community celebration of her life.

Dee DiPol

An informal get-together to honor this longtime local treasure will take place on Monday, Oct. 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Historic USO Building.

HSUMD invites Dee’s many friends to stop by and visit with her. A continuous slide show will run in the background, light refreshments will be served, and memories and stories will be encouraged.

HSUMD is just one of the many organizations Dee has been involved in over the 72 productive years she has lived in our valley. She and her husband, John (now deceased) provided longterm support to the Parish of Saint Ann’s and all three historical organizations in our town. Mystique and other fitness organizations benefited from Dee’s energy and enthusiasm, as did WACOM and the Pink Ladies.

Among many other contributions, the DiPols also supported their children’s school and athletic activities.

Please stop by on Monday, Oct. 17 to honor this longtime community jewel.
