ICSD Board sends members a Boil Water Notice

By Patricia Farris News Review Publisher–  The members of the Inyokern Community Services District received a Boil Water Notice on June 22, 2024. There were concerns among locals that many residents may not have received the notice. They were rolled up and stuck in fences. Possibly, many could have blown away.

It was also noted that the notices were published only in English, potentially leaving out many Hispanic residents who may not have been able to read the message.

According to one resident, a few cartons of small bottles of water were available for a few hours for people who might want to pick them up at the district office.

Residents were advised to refrain from using the water for showers, as it could be harmful if it came into contact with their eyes, noses, or mouths.

Locals are purchasing large bottles of water for drinking, cooking, and bathing.

Residents are complaining that nither the ICSD board members nor the manager, Colleen White, have not been available for assistance or more needed information.
