Ridgecrest Regional Hospital (RRH)– The start of the school year is upon us, but there is still time to make an appointment for back to school immunizations at Ridgecrest Regional Hospital.
“We have been able to get people in within about a week, but I expect things will get busier,” said Dr. Jennifer Prince, Pediatric Medical Director of RRH.
“I encourage parents to call as soon as possible to get an appointment.”
Dr. Prince and her team have successfully recruited new practitioners to Ridgecrest.
“The addition of new team members has also allowed us to enhance our capacity to provide timely appointments, improved continuity of care, and expanded services,” she said.
Patients responded positively to the new providers and expressed appreciation for the compassionate, expert care available. “We believe this has strengthened our commitment to delivering excellent patient healthcare experiences.”
One of the new services includes walk-in hours from 8-10 a.m. for sick children.
“I also want to stress the critical importance of scheduling and attending regular well-child check-ups,” said Dr. Prince.
“These routine visits are not just about tracking growth and vaccinations; they play a crucial role in ensuring a child’s overall health and well-being.”
Well, checks are an opportunity to assess a child’s physical, emotional, and developmental milestones, address concerns, and provide an opportunity for early detection and intervention of significant issues.
“Another essential aspect of these visits is building a trusting relationship between us, the healthcare providers, and the caregivers. This relationship is vital in ensuring that a child receives the best possible care tailored to their specific needs.
“Please remember that visits to the doctor are not just for when a child is sick,” she said. “A parent’s active participation in these visits ensures we can work together to support your child’s growth and wellness.”
