Jose Luis Lopez (Gole) passed away at the age of 61 peacefully surrounded by loved ones on March 29, 2024, at Antelope Valley Medical in Lancaster, CA. He was born November 18, 1962 in Tijuana, Mexico to Maria De Jesus Quiroz and Manuel Lopez Mendoza.
He is survived by his siblings, Cruz Lopez, Ridgecrest, CA; Cecilia Torres, Ridgecrest, CA; Martha Bruchert, Ridgecrest, CA; Dolores Lopez, San Jacinto, CA; Esther Lopez, Brea, CA; Herlinda Solis, Lynwood, CA; and Arturo Lopez, San Jacinto CA. Jose is also survived by his many nieces and nephews all over California and preceded in death by his older brother Manuel Lopez, who passed just six weeks before Jose did.
If you asked anyone who has met Jose in person, they would tell you he was the life of the party. Jose was the kind of person who knew only how to unconditionally love, laugh, and eat what he could get his hands on! If he weren’t at his adult daycare or doing his daily routine, you would always find him dancing or singing in his room.
Music was one of the biggest parts of his life. Some of his favorite artists were Selena, Michael Jackson, Luis Miguel, and more. We a
re all feeling the loss of him not being on this earth with us, and it may be a feeling that will never go away. However, we do know that Jose always put others first and made sure that others were okay and comfortable. We will continue to live by that… to continue being okay and finding the small joys in life just like he did.
We would also like to take the time to show our gratitude to the S.A.I.L.S adult daycare program in Ridgecrest, CA. There are no words to describe how much this program meant to him and his family over the last 15 years. We thank you for providing him with a safe place to learn, make friends, and play his favorite game- volleyball (that would be the best part of his day).
We will be celebrating Jose’s life as well as his oldest brother’s life on May 4th, 2024, at 2:00 pm, 9628 San Pablo Ave, Hesperia CA 92345.
We hope you can join us in celebrating him and share a dance or two in his honor.
