Lions Club is participating in the CA Student Speakers Contest

The Ridgecrest Lions Club Lion Michael Spahn–

The Ridgecrest Lions Club is participating in the 2022-2023 academic year in the California State-wide Student Speakers Contest.  The topic this year:  “Social Media – Connects Us or Isolates Us?”

This Contest is open to all High School Students, 9th-12th grade, and a California resident.  This includes foreign exchange students of any high school, private school, home school, or independent study.  The Ridgecrest Lions Club is looking for interested students in the Indian Wells Valley and the community of Trona.  Any interested student must contact the Lions and set up an appointment with a parent to go over all the details.  Only 6 students are allowed at the Club Level of Contest, and only one of those students will move on to the next Level.

The Ridgecrest Lions Club Contest will be held sometime early next calendar year, most likely mid January.  More details to come. There are a total of 6 Levels of the Contest, and at each Level, only one student moves on.  The total scholarship awards given out this year by the California Lions totals $103,500.

The flyers and posters for the schools for this 2022-2023 year will be produced this October.
