Local leaders speak to dismay of McCarthy’s ouster

By Patricia Farris News Review Publisher–  Regarding the news of McCarthy’s ouster as Speaker, some local leaders expressed their dismay.

Scott O’Neil, IWV Economic Development Corporation Executive and former Technical Director of China Lake commented, “I think Wednesday was a dark day for America. With Rep. McCarthy no longer Speaker of the House and not interested in running for it again, I don’t know who will lead.  I am so frustrated…Rep. McCarthy stood up for America this week and actually led… he was rejected by a group that had no plan forward.  It’s pretty apparent Rep. Gaetz has no plan.  Unfortunately, we don’t have much common ground to build on.  The only thing in common is blame.   The Republicans have brought us chaos, and the Democrats are willing to let us wallow.  It seems no party has a vision for our future that we can all share, and it seems we are devoid of the leadership needed to find one.  Uhg!”

Mayor Eric Bruen stated, “I join in the many citizens of Ridgecrest who are saddened by the events that occurred on October 3rd. Speaker McCarthy has been a friend for nearly twenty years, and I have seen his dedicated and unwavering commitment to the American people and his constituents many times. Kevin is a fighter, and through his tenancy as a speaker, he brought more transparency to Congress than had existed for the past decade of speakers that preceded him.”

“So, here we stand where eight Members of Congress have now thrown our government into chaos. There were ample opportunities for the key objectives sought by the American people, like border safety, debt reduction, and appropriations, to be accomplished. Yet, for these individuals, their own petty egos have now created even more chaos in government, and the potential of a longer, more truly devastating government shutdown looms larger than it ever did last week.”

“The loss of the prestige and influence that came with having the Speaker of the House represent our citizens is not irrelevant. However, the true loss is that the nation has lost a leader who truly cares about America. The City of Ridgecrest looks forward to continuing to work with Congressman McCarthy for our community and in supporting wherever his future endeavors take him. Regardless, he will always have friends in Ridgecrest who appreciate his service and thank him for everything he has done for our nation and community.” Bruen said.

Alice Campbell, former Project Manager and Branch Head as Mathematician at China Lake for more than 25 years, who also served as President of China Lake Museum Foundation, offered the following. “I believe I was asked for my perspective because I formerly was President of Ridgecrest Republican Women and have always been a friend and advocate for our Representative Kevin McCarthy.  I was shocked and highly disappointed with the eight “Republicans” who sided with ALL Democrat Representatives to turn on him and throw him out as Speaker.  I call these eight “RINOs of another color” (Republican In Name Only).  Kevin’s speech afterward and all he did to get our Nation functioning in the spirit of truth was summarized well by Larry Kudlow, lead economic advisor for Presidents Trump and Reagan: “Kevin McCarthy showed everyone what a class act he is by doing the right thing, and in my view is going to Heaven.”  Even Larry Kudlow thinks this is a “God Event.”  I even believe that God used Kevin to test America’s leaders in the House by using His merciful approach, but so many failed this test and failed America.  Now, is it time for God to bring out the hammer, Donald J. Trump, to lead the House?  Or will God give these Legislators one more chance to do the right thing?

Kevin McCarthy has always said his priority is to follow the Constitution and do what’s best for America.  He has done so with a positive attitude, believing the best from his fellow Representatives, both right and left.  As I have stated, often defending his position on the app “Truth Social,” where the extreme right has been brutal toward him, “Kevin is a lover, not a fighter.”

Kevin has worked hard for years, supporting Republicans who ultimately won control of the House.  As Speaker, he has tried to represent all of America by negotiating with all sides including extreme Republicans and extreme “One World Government” Democrats.  He yielded where he had to, sharing power with the extreme right by backing off from Speaker Pelosi’s dictatorial rules, so he could “move the Country forward”.  I believe he showed the mercy of Jesus in his approach, loving his “enemies” while patiently working hard with them to find common ground.  He assigned excellent Committee Chairs who have made great progress  bringing forth truth and obtaining irrefutable evidence about criminal behavior of MANY Deep State players, by “following the money,”  showing how at risk America is with our biggest enemies.

I know what I’m to do,  pray that our leaders in Congress will ask God for His guidance, and follow His strategic timing, because according to Isaiah 9:6, which is about Jesus Christ “the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”  We can choose to believe that or not, but at least when God leads the Nation, as we ask Him to do in our Pledge of Allegiance “Under God,” He gives us freedom of choice.”
