Local papers should cover some national issues

TO: The Editor

I understand that both local papers intend to focus on covering the city and the local area.  However, you should not entirely omit coverage of some issues that are national but have relationships with the local community.

The first of these matters is the handling of Classified documents.  Many base employees have had access to classified documents.  They could inform those of us in the community who have not had access to this type of document how they are to be handled.

Secondly, there has been a proposal floating around since the last administration that if enacted would significantly alter civil service protections.  How would it affect base employees and how would they react to it?
