On Monday, July 24, City Clerk Ricca Charlon swore in Ridgecrest’s newest police officer, Officer Logan Bebee. Ridgecrest Police Captain Justin Dampier introduced Bebee during the ceremony, surrounded by his family, friends, fellow officers, and staff.

Logan was born in Ridgecrest and graduated from Burroughs High School in 2020.

Before joining the department, he worked as a security guard.

Bebee stated that he is excited about becoming an officer and joining the department because of his passion for law enforcement and great love for people.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with friends and family. He also enjoys a hidden talent for DJing.

“You have a lot of family and friends and people who love you,” Dampier told Bebee. “You will need that love for the next four months as you will work non-stop.”

After being sworn in, Bebee was given his badge, which he bequeathed the honor to his mother, who adoringly pinned it on his chest.

Dampier reminded Bebee that the people he will typically be dealing with are experiencing their worst days as the police don’t usually deal with people on their best days.

As the ceremony ended, Captain Dampier offered Officer Bebee to give a closing speech. “I would like to thank everyone for their support, coming out on my day, and all of you who helped me with memos throughout the academy and memorizing the penal codes. Truly, I appreciate it,” Bebee said.
