Lorree Bullard

Lorree moved to China Lake, California, in 1961, starting 52 years of community service. She taught at Richmond Elementary School in the 1960s. She owned The Book Store in downtown Ridgecrest for almost twenty years. She later volunteered at the Red Rock Canyon State Park Visitor’s Center and hosted scrapbooking sessions for her friends.

As a lifelong learner, Lorree’s studies often focused on birds, wildflowers, and earthquakes. Her bookstore always had a large selection of local history and geography books. She especially enjoyed discussing wildflowers with Red Rock Canyon visitors from around the world. She enjoyed genealogy, watching game shows, and reading one book each day from her local library.

Lorree was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Arlene Hobson. She is survived by her sons Steven Bullard (Ronald Williams) and Mark (Amie) Bullard, granddaughters Marlo Bullard and Willa Bullard, and sister Gayle Gess. The family greatly appreciates her care team in Utah, who helped her live a long, happy life.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages a donation in Lorree’s memory to be made to any library or museum.
