On August 15, 2022, at 11:08 PM, Kern County Fire Department and Liberty Ambulance responded to reports of an accident in Inyokern. Nicholas Thomas Olar was operating an off-highway vehicle when he apparently crashed at the 900 block of 3rd Street in Inyokern. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Olar was declared deceased at the scene from his injuries. The next of kin was notified. The cause of the crash was investigated by The California Highway Patrol.
