Kern County Fire Department and The Ridgecrest Police Department were dispatched Wednesday evening to a report of a local motorcyclist struck by a SUV. The accident occurred in the parking lot of Howards Mini Mart located on the corner of Downs and UpJohn. The rider of the motorcycle suffered a serious leg injury and was transported to Ridgecrest Regional Hospital by ambulance. An investigation is still pending. / Laura Austin Photo
