LOS ANGELES, March 20, 2023 /PRNewswire/ —
Film commission representatives throughout California will gather with Hollywood filmmakers for the 2023 Film in California Conference, being held on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, CA. Ridgecrest Film Commissioner Kari Crutcher was selected to serve as Co-Chair of the event to connect Film Liaisons in California Statewide (FLICS) members with the content creators, financiers, production executives, and other industry professionals involved in making location decisions and determining where production budgets are spent.
The event is open to all industry professionals, allowing attendees to meet California film commission representatives and will receive updates on the latest California Film and TV Tax Credit Program incentives, locations, facilities, infrastructure, crew depth, and other vital topics. More than 30 film commissions throughout California will be represented.
“The Film in California Conference is focused on delivering maximum value to our members and the production industry through carefully curated events,” said co-chair Kari Crutcher. “Our goal is to bring together decision-makers to facilitate production and post-production projects and, in turn, create industry growth, economic development, and job creation throughout California. I intend to use my participation to shine a light on Ridgecrest to create geographic awareness of the region with the Hollywood film community.”
On hiatus just before the COVID-19 outbreak, the event is back to in-person events, and the anticipation is that filmmakers are selling out the event. Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank is working with Film in California Conference leadership to make this event appealing to entertainment professionals excited to see their colleagues and renew relationships that waned throughout the shutdown.
The Film in California Conference sponsors and co-hosts include the California Film Commission (CFC), Film Liaisons in California Statewide (FLICS), The Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI), Teamsters Local 399, Location Managers Guild International (LMGI), and trade publications The Hollywood Reporter, The Wrap, and Variety.
