Ridge Writers Daniel Stallings–
To celebrate National Reading Month, established on Dr. Seuss’ birthday, we at Ridge Writers, under the care and supervision of our Youth Coordinator Janis Kunz, are bringing Ridgecrest a Junior Writers Book Swap because we believe “good readers make great writers.” Open to grades K through 12. The celebration will ask our young guests to bring books to swap and have a chance to join our Poetry Read-Aloud or the Story Title Writing Contest to win fun prizes.
The event also includes a Dr. Seuss Photo Booth and additional prize drawings. The Ridge Writers Leaders will be on hand to provide information about our upcoming summer story workshops for local students. We’re here to celebrate the joys of the written word with everyone.
The Ridge Writers Junior Writers Book Swap is Saturday, March 25th, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Red Rock Books (206 W. Ridgecrest Blvd.). Admission for the Book Swap is $5 advance sign-up and a $7 at-the-door donation per family to Ridge Writers to assist us in funding the supplies we need for the summer writing workshops. Whether your family is four-strong or ten-strong, the admission price is the same. Each donation helps us further our mission to spread the joy of writing your own stories to every generation. Happy reading and writing, everyone.
