Ridgecrest Police Department swears in new Chief of Police

Ridgecrest Police Department—The City of Ridgecrest is proud to announce Mario Ysit’s appointment as the new Chief of police. On June 3, 2024, at 1000 hours, a ceremony was held at the City of Ridgecrest Council Chambers, where Chief Ysit took his oath of office.

Chief Ysit brings over 30 years of public safety experience and is committed to promoting professionalism and community engagement within the Ridgecrest Police Department. He upholds the principles of Accountability F.I.R.S.T.(Fairness, Integrity, Respect, Service, Teamwork) and is deeply invested in community-oriented policing, recognizing the importance of

strong relationships with department employees and the community.

Chief Ysit holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Management and has completed the FBI LEEDA Trilogy, POST Leadership effectiveness, as well as numerous other certifications.

Chief Ysit is dedicated to leading the Ridgecrest Police Department with professionalism, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to service. His leadership will be grounded in the principles enshrined in the oath of office

and the Constitution, and will focus on upholding the rights and liberties of all individuals while ensuring public safety and security.
