RPD conducted compliance checks

Ridgecrest Police Department –

On June 24 and 25, the Ridgecrest Police Department, led by Detectives Pietrangelo and Arnold, conducted compliance checks on subjects who are on either Active Parole, Probation, or Post Release Community Supervision (AB109) living within the City of Ridgecrest and surrounding areas (Buttermilk Acres and Inyokern). The primary goal of the compliance checks is to deter criminal activity in the Indian Wells Valley.

The operation was comprised of approximately 35 Law Enforcement Officers from the following agencies:
– Ridgecrest Police Department
– Kern County Probation Department -McFarland Police Department

During the operation, approximately 40 searches were conducted. We had 70 planned targets with 30 non-target contacts, resulting in 28 arrests for various violations. Seized were approximately 2 pounds of Methamphetamine, 1 pound of Fentanyl, and several Meth Pipes and hypodermic needles. Four guns (two of which were reported stolen) and hundreds of rounds of ammunition were seized from a subject who was prohibited. Also, four stolen vehicles were recovered.
