RPD welcomes new Chief of Police

Ridgecrest Police Department (RPD)  Captain Aaron Tucker –  The City of Ridgecrest is proud to announce the appointment of Mario Ysit as the new Chief of Police for the Ridgecrest Police Department. On June 3, at 10:00 PM, a ceremony will be held at the City of Ridgecrest Council Chambers, where Chief Ysit will take his oath of office.

Ysit brings over 30 years of public safety experience and is committed to promoting professionalism and community engagement within RPD. He upholds the principles of Accountability F.I.R.S.T.(Fairness, Integrity, Respect, Service, Teamwork).

He is deeply invested in community-oriented policing, recognizing the importance of strong relationships with department employees and the community. Ysit holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Management and has completed the FBI LEEDA Trilogy, POST Leadership effectiveness, as well as numerous other certifications. Ysit is dedicated to leading the department with professionalism, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to service.

His leadership will be grounded in the principles enshrined in the oath of office and the Constitution. It will focus on upholding the rights and liberties of all individuals while ensuring public Safety.
