Ruth Goins

She leaves behind four sons and their spouses: David and Deborah Goins, John and Roxanne Goins, Mark and Diana Goins, and Paul and Lydia Goins: Twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Born in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Ruth migrated with her family to California and resided in Sand Diego, Yucaipa, Trona, Walker Basin, and Ridgecrest.

In her Trona years, Ruth worked as a teacher’s aide for Trona Elementary School, a bank teller for Security Pacific Bank, and a secretary for Trona Railroad. Her acute organizational skills, high standards, and work ethic served her well in every service to those who employed her.

Of Ruth’s many talents, she will be remembered for her hospitality. She served family, friends, and acquaintances alike. The door was always open, and there was always room and food. She hosted numerous Sunday dinners, baby/bridal showers, engagement parties, birthday/anniversary parties, wedding receptions, and themed seasonal dress-up dinner parties. She would invite unknown church visitors over for Sunday lunch. One such couple visiting from Sweden was gifted free room and board for a week while they toured the local mountains and desert.

A member of the Church of Christ, she served and supported local congregations in Yucaipa, Trona, and Mountain Mesa.

Ruth’s family would like to thank High Desert Haven and Simply Caring Angles for the excellent care given to our mother while in their charge.
