Salvation Army seeks dollars to send kids to camp

The Salvation Army is looking for support to help in sending kids to camp this summer.

We will be taking Ridgecrest children ages 8-16 to a week of camp located at Camp Redwood Glen in the redwood forest of the Santa Cruz Mountains.  The camp offers a variety of experiences, including swimming, crafts, archery, slingshots, campouts, hiking, paintball, cabin activities, and campfires.  The campers are provided a safe, warm bed, and they enjoy lots of good food.  For some kids, the meals a day around a table family style, and afternoon snack shop and evening snack time are a reason why this is the best week of the year.  Add to those necessities that each child is provided with the knowledge that they are loved and that their dreams are attainable.  Camp is a wonderful opportunity to participate in mentoring programs that encourage children of all ages and build up their self-esteem and confidence.

We ask you to be a part of transforming young lives by generously donating to The Salvation Army.  Drop by 151 N. Downs St. RC on weekdays, 9 am-3 pm, with your $500 campership donation to support one child with an amazing week of residential summer camp.  You can contribute by cash, check, and credit cards, and also mail your gift to PO Box 189 Ridgecrest, CA 93556.  Please specify the Campership on your donation.  Our website ridgecrest.salvationarmy.org also has a quick link to donate for summer camp.  QR Code works great, too.  All donations are tax-deductible.  For more information, please contact Lt. Gina Noble (760) 375-7219, ex 109.

Thank You & God Bless.
