Samuel Mark Roether, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on April 4, 2023, at 80 years old, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.
Mark was born March 29, 1943, to Vernon and Reba Roether and was raised in Bakersfield, Calif., graduating from South High School. He lived and worked mainly in Ridgecrest, Calif., with his wife, Linda.
He was incredibly talented and passionate about ministry, construction, and teaching. He loved helping Habitat for Humanity by building houses in his spare time. In his younger years, his love for God led him into the ministry. However, later in life, he worked as an instructor for CCA in California City and then La Palma in Arizona and was named Instructor of the Year nationwide one year. He was proud of his family and talked about them anytime he could.
Mark was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Roether, in 2019. He is survived by his brothers Vernon and Curt Roether, sister Pamela Todd, four children, Sean, Stephanie, Laurie, and Christy, and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at The Tehachapi Vineyard Church, 502 East Pinon St., on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow.
