STEM Day at BHS returned Nov. 4

This is the first time since 2019 that Burroughs High School has been able to offer Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Day. On Friday, November 4, dozens of students participated in the event. 

Engineers, scientists, testing and evaluation personnel from China Lake demonstrated to the students career opportunities. The partnership between China Lake and Burroughs High School has broadened educational horizons. 

This signature event showcases the types of careers available. “Students are always surprised at the diversity of jobs available at China Lake. They range from Research and Development, Testing and Evaluation to technical and vocational opportunities. These would include, machine shop and other aspects that would support our country’s defense. 

The event lasted from 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM on the Burroughs High School campus in the vicinity of the Engineering Building.
