Ridgecrest Police Department– On Thursday, September 29, at about 2:30 am, Officer Kyle Cushman was dispatched to the 200 block of W. Inyokern Rd. regarding a report of three individuals possibly breaking into vehicles. Suspect descriptions were provided and Officer Cushman located the subjects several blocks away. He made contact with Cameron Rainwater, Katrina Tamez, and Jose Horta near a vehicle in the 1500 block of N. Norma St. The vehicle belonged to Rainwater and Officer Cushman was able to see a glass smoking pipe in the center console. Ultimately a search was conducted and Officer Cushman located more than 70 grams of methamphetamine, individually packaged baggies of heroin, six tabs of suspected LSD (acid), and numerous items of mail that did not belong to the three suspects.
A search warrant was written for Rainwater’s residence and officers located additional drug paraphernalia along with more methamphetamine.
All three subjects were arrested and later transported to the Central Receiving Facility in Bakersfield.
