Amber Pate welcomed her daughter Emma — the first baby of the New Year at Ridgecrest Regional Hospital — into the world on Monday, Jan. 2, at 9:39 a.m. Emma weighed in at 9 pounds, 8 ounces, and measured 21.5 inches long. Pate said she had a good experience at RRH, “It’s a great place to have a baby. Everyone has been so helpful — they have an amazing team that works together!” In keeping with tradition, the first baby of 2023 won blankets, toys, baby clothes and a case of diapers as part of her prize package.
