The mix of thrill rides, live music and seeing old friends makes fair time a meaningful community event. The Destruction Derby is one of the most popular events at the fair. The derby participants crash, smash and bash each other in hopes of being the last one standing. The cars are built to very strict specifications so hopefully nobody gets hurt. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. /Laura Austin Photos

“We had good feedback as attendees said there was so much entertainment they were unable to take it all in.

“We decided to spend 60% of the budget this year to bring things to the Fair that we could offer for free.

“Half for the $5 parking fee proceeds went to the Boy Scouts.”
