By LAURA AUSTIN News Review Staff Writer– On July 09, 2023, at approximately 6:53 PM, California Highway Patrol Officer S. Moore was stopped at the Chevron gas station at 6260 Inyokern Rd just East of Inyokern, fueling his patrol vehicle.
At that time, a black Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 21-year-old Tyrees Arana of Inyokern, pulled into the gas station. Arana and two other occupants contacted Moore and requested medical assistance with an unresponsive female. Medical aid was requested, and life-saving efforts were initiated, but because of the severity of the injuries, the efforts were unsuccessful.
The woman, 25-year-old Naidelyne Jomaira Arana, an Inyokern resident, was a passenger in an off-road vehicle, a Toyota 4Runner, allegedly using a video camera, possibly from on top of the vehicle, while “off-roading” in Sand Canyon a dirt road west of US-395. The Toyota 4Runner became involved in a collision, and Naidelyne Jomaira Arana fell, sustaining severe head trauma. Unfortunately, she was pronounced deceased due to her injuries sustained.
The CHP is asking anyone with information regarding this collision should contact the CHP Mojave Area at (661) 823-5500.
