Wednesday afternoon at about 2:30 PM, Kern County Fire Department and Ridgecrest Police were dispatched to reports of a vehicle that crashed into a tree in the Stater Brothers Parking lot. The emergency responders arrived to find two Gardaworld Security service employees turning into Stater Brothers Shopping Center when they hit a dip on entry to the shopping center. The driver told officers the jolt made his foot slam onto the gas peddle, and he briefly lost control of the truck, causing him to lose control, hitting a palm tree. Both the driver and his partner were transported by ambulance to Ridgecrest Regional Hospital and later released after receiving medical treatment for moderate injuries.
