Wreaths Across America ceremony to be observed Dec. 16

Wreaths Across America Michael Cash – December 16th is Wreaths Across America, where we place wreaths on our fallen soldiers. The ceremony will start at 10:00 at the Ridgecrest Desert Memorial Park, 801 South San Bernardino County Line Rd.

Please arrive by 9:30 if you are part of the ceremony.

We need volunteers to help unload the truck on December 12 at 10 am at Desert Memorial Park cemetery.

There will be a total of 134 wreath boxes.  Each box contains nine wreaths.   Help will be needed to unload the large truck that will deliver the wreaths and transfer them to the cargo trailer.

“Our goal for this year was 1200 wreaths,” said Cash. “I am happy to report that we have reached our goal of 1200 wreaths.   This means we will have a wreath for every veteran grave site at the Desert Memorial Park.”

Thanks to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Daughters of the American Revolution, American Legion, Operation Family, and the Elks for making this a success.

There are 1100 veterans buried at Desert Memorial Park, Ridgecrest.

They do not have a count of veterans buried at the following cemeteries: Searles Valley Cemetery, Trona,  Mount Owens Cemetery, Inyokern (Grapevine Canyon),  Rand District Cemetery, Johannesburg, Darwin Cemetery, Darwin and  Ballarat Cemetery, Ballarat. They should have 100 wreaths to support these locations. “Thanks to all who support this effort as we prepare to Remember, Honor, and Teach what the price of freedom is and who paid the price.”
