Wreaths Across America seeks volunteers

By Patricia Farris News Review Publisher– The 2022 Wreaths Across America ceremony will be held on December 17 at 10 AM. The event will take place at Desert Memorial Park.

“We need your help again this year to provide the placing of the wreaths at the grave sites of our veterans,” said Mike Cash coordinator of the event.

According to Cash, there are about 1200 wreaths this year. He said, “We will need  help in unloading the big truck and trailer that is delivering the wreaths to a smaller truck and trailer several days prior to the December 17 event. The driver and truck are provided at no charge. So this is a little tricky as we do not know until the last two days when the driver and truck will arrive. We are looking for volunteers who are healthy and time flexible to help with the unloading. Because we had such amazing volunteers last year, it took only about 45 minutes to unload the 110 boxes for wreaths.

“Please share this information with anyone you think might be participating in Wreaths Across America this year. We hope you will save the date and time for this beautiful event.” Cash said.

Update:  Michael Cash just notified The News Review that the big truck hauling the wreaths from the East coast will arrive at the Ridgecrest Cemetery this Tuesday, December 13th at 1 pm plus or minus and hour.  He hope some of you can help to unload the 120 boxes, 35 lbs each from the big trailer to the small trailer.
